As Below So Above

As below so above
Bringing heaven down to earth
To enjoy this gift called life
and to know its preciousness.

We are learning all our lessons
as we do this sacred earth walk
to purify the light and the soul that lives within.

So we can be heaven on earth
and to bring down all the blessings
of the love and of the light
that flow down from up above.

 

Embedded in Judaism and many other traditions is the concept that what we do here on earth affects the heavenly realms and vice versa. In Kabbalah we can affect what happens through the Tree of Life. It is also understood through the well known Oseh Shalom prayer… “may the One who makes peace in heaven, make peace on earth.”

Of late I have felt that when we gather to pray, chant and sing we are stirring the cosmic realm and hopefully inspiring God by our devotion. May we open up to another realm of reality through this cosmic perspective and may it help us on our own sometimes challenging earth walk.
