Angel Chant
May the angels hover
and may they surround 2x
Uriel, and Micha’el, Rafa’el and Gavri’el
May the angels hover
and may they surround 2x
With light and love and healing and strength 2x
There is a traditional prayer said at bedtime called Shema L’Mittah. Jewish tradition suggests that the Shema be said along with a prayer asking the archangels to surround one before they go to sleep, as some believed that sleep was connected to a kind of death.
When a friend’s mother was diagnosed with cancer I wanted to send her the healing energy of the angels, yet the well known tune to the angel prayer did not feel appropriate. In prayer, this melody came through along with the words. For light and love and healing and strength are the energies that each of the angels bring respectively, Uriel (angel of Light from the East), Micha’el (the angel of love from the South), Rafa’el (the angel of healing from the West), and Gavri’el (the angel of strength from the North).
Any time you or a loved one is in need of healing, I hope calling in the angels to hover over you and your beloveds through this chant will shed a healing light and balm to surround and to offer support.
