Elul Niggun
A niggun is a wordless melody used as a Jewish spiritual practice.
The month preceding the high holy days is a magical time that offers gifts unlike any other time of the year.
The month known as Elul is an acronym for Ani’ L’Dodi v’Dodi Li translated as “I am my Beloved’s and my Beloved is mine.” While these words may have been heard under the chuppah as the verse from Song of Songs that speaks of human love, during Elul it is about the Love between Divine Source and humanity. As part of the particular of this concept and the universal we enter into this holy space desiring a connection to our Maker.
It is at this time that the veils between heaven and earth are thin and open, to reveal the brilliance and presence of God unlike any other time of the year.
