For a number of years I served as a hospice chaplain attending to people as they lying on their beds about to die. It can be challenging to hold space for others as they are in the last weeks and days of their lives. Chanting these words from the Adon Olam (master of the universe) prayer was a soothing lullaby to me and I hope to them as well. To send them back to the Source of their lives with an intention not to be afraid and to know that God is, was and will be with them.

May this lullaby serve as in life as well. When we may fear what we are experiencing, or what is coming next in our lives frightens us… may it offer, soothing, comforting and holding energy filled with love, not fear.
