Energy Field Protection Recharge

Psalm 67:2

Elohim, y‘choneinu, y‘varacheinu, y‘ar panav etanu, Selah.

Translation: God grace us, bless us, may Its light shine among us, Selah.

 

I learned about protecting my energy field many years ago from Rabbi Shefa Gold. She shared a boundaries practice with us, saying, “I want you to imagine you are creating a golden egg of protection around you. Imagine you are bringing the light up from the ground all the way up through the heart and above the top of the head.” The idea of this practice was to fill the egg shape of protection with our own energy and not allow for any gaps. If we could create a personal energy field that was completely filled, then no one else’s random energy could enter.

I would do this Energy Field Recharge chant practice often, especially before going into big crowds of people. When we moved to New York City and I had lots of energy coming at me all the time, I did the practice daily. Imagine free radicals of energy coming at you and no shield to defend against them. Doing this practice and holding this conscious awareness is critical to maintaining good boundaries and a sense of equanimity.
